Canfield Bikes, high-end boutique mountain-bike and component manufacturer, today announces it has relocated to a new headquarters in Poncha Springs, CO, just outside the booming outdoor destination town of Salida.
I purchased the Balance frame 2 years ago
and never wrote a review before. It isn't my primary trail bike, but I do ride it often. It is set up with a Zeb set at 170mm and does feel well balanced 😀 there. I purchased the frame with a DVO Topaz air shock. What I found, and have come to love about the bike, is the CBF. This thing pedals so well and really feels like you are pedaling a bike much lighter than it actually is. If you are unsure of buying a Canfield, find a way to test ride one.
I love the Canfield Crampon pedals so much, I have them on all of my mountain bikes. They are grippy, feel good on my feet and are so thin that pedal strikes are rare. When I need new pedals, there’s no shopping around. The only decision is which color to select!
These pedals are the bomb. They look good but function better. They are concave enough for amazing grip but also are spot on size wise. I have moved these pedals between my enduro bike and DH bikes when another brands pedals died. The only bad thing I can say is it’s a bummer when they scuff up with use because these pedals look so great when new.
These are my favorite platform pedals. Thin, but incredibly solid feel, with great grip. Confidence inspiring. Quality materials and manufacturing. Comes with spares.
One.2 is the best super enduro a person could own!
The one.2 I had ordered as a complete DH Bike. I rode it as a DH for a while. However, this bike is incredibly easy to climb with! I outfit the Bike with a single crown EXT era2.1 LT and swapped out the drive train. This Frame is a real slayer of gravity, and climbs like a champ!
Love my pedals - love the grip and function, love how thin they are, love the replacement pins that come with the pedals, and I even love the color of my pedals as it makes my bike a standout.
Only challenge and its not a complaint is that they do take some basic maintenance.
Stoked on these. I wish I would have moved to shorted cranks years earlier. No more crank arm rocks strikes. Didn't take long to get used to the pedal stroke, and knee pain has improved. Easy installation as well. If you're on the fence, pull the trigger.
Purchased these for a FS that has a low bottom bracket. I’ve gotten a lot less pedal strikes and the size (155) works better for my knees. Overall they are light and strong enough to do what I need. Very nicely made and look great too.
The 60/40 Next Level Apparel shirts are soft and flexible with a tailored fit. The screen print is a high quality that has held up through several wash cycles. A solid shirt all the way around.
I used to get hip pain after longer rides with 170mm cranks - moving to these 155mm cranks has greatly reduced, mostly eliminated, that hip pain and I find it much easier to maneuver and shift my weight around the bike. I almost exclusively ride singlespeed, and, while I did adjust my gearing to keep my gain ratio consistent, I haven't noticed any issues from having reduced my crank length. All in all these are very comfortable cranks, and I definitely recommend them.
Yep, that's the deal. Canfield had the concept of the convex pedal figured out over a decade ago and still makes the best pedal out there. I've gotten so bored with how much better their pedals are that I've tried a bunch of other pedals over the years and always end up coming back to the Crampon.
Especially for the sale price, just buy a pair today and use all of the time you just saved not reading endless reviews shredding something rad.
