2020-2025 Canfield Tilt V1 & V2

29" WHEELS // 138mm REAR // 140mm FRONT
The Canfield Tilt V1 and V2 (2020–2025) established the foundation of Canfield’s modern mid-travel 29er trail / all-mountain platform. Built around the patented CBF™ suspension and balanced geometry, these first-generation Tilt frames delivered efficient pedaling, confident descending, and the ride composure that continues to define the Tilt platform today.
Platform Overview
Introduced as Canfield’s dedicated mid-travel 29” chassis, the Tilt was designed to be the most fun you can have on two wheels — from after-work rips to all-day epics. The objective was simple: build a 29er that climbed efficiently, remained planted at speed, and maintained the balanced ride character riders expect from Canfield.
- 29” wheel platform
- CBF™ suspension kinematics
- Mid-travel trail / all-mountain configuration
- Balanced geometry for aggressive terrain
Suspension & Ride Characteristics
The Tilt was engineered to maintain traction under acceleration while remaining composed through repeated impacts and steep descents.
- CBF™ refined for Tilt: anti-squat focused in the ideal range through travel for an even better pedaling platform.
- Updated leverage curve: more beginning + mid-stroke support, with a slightly more progressive ramp at the end.
- Less chaingrowth: reduced pedal kickback to stay glued to the pedals in hard compressions.
- Lower anti-rise: more composed braking and preserved geometry when you get on the anchors.
Singletracks readers picked the Canfield Tilt as All-Mountain Bike of the Year in 2024 — a mid-travel 29er built around the patented Canfield Balance Formula™ suspension. Party up. Party down. Party on.
Geometry Philosophy
Tilt V1 and V2 geometry reflected progressive trail / all-mountain thinking while maintaining Canfield’s balance-first design approach.
- 65° head angle for stability in steep terrain
- 77° effective seat angle for climbing position
- Balanced front center for high-speed composure
- 425mm rear center for traction and cornering consistency
Frame Construction & Features
- 7005 aluminum frame with CNC 7075 links
- Boost hub spacing
- Threaded bottom bracket
- Internal cable routing
- ISCG tabs
- Short seat tube lengths for long dropper compatibility
- Clearance for aggressive tire setups
V2 maintained identical geometry and suspension characteristics to V1, with minor production refinements and updated colorways. Ride feel remained intentionally consistent across both versions.
Platform Evolution
The Tilt V1 and V2 represent the first generation of the Tilt platform. Rather than a one-off model, these bikes established the geometry, suspension behavior, and ride identity that continues to evolve in newer generations of the Tilt.
