Our Canfield Factory Pedal Rebuild Service brings your pedals back to as-new condition, internals and all, so you can get back to riding instead of wrenching.

Note: We inspect both the spindle and pedal body as part of every rebuild. If they're in good condition and within specification, we'll rebuild your pedals and send them back ready to ride. If we find damage or excessive wear to either component, we'll contact you before proceeding to discuss the available replacement options. There are never any surprise charges.

How It Works

1. Remove Your Pedals
Remove your pedals from your crank arms. Before packing them up, give them a quick wash. They don't need to be spotless, but we'd rather not receive half of your local trail with them.
2. Send Them to Us

3. Factory Rebuild & Inspection
- Complete teardown, cleaning, and inspection of every pedal
- Replacement of worn bushings, bearings, and damaged pins
- All components are thoroughly cleaned, freshly greased, and reassembled.
- If any major components require replacement, we'll contact you before proceeding.
4. We Ship Them Back
- Turnaround time begins when your pedals arrive at our shop—not when you ship them.
- Your pedals ship back within the turnaround window of the service tier you select (2–3, 4–6, or 7–10 business days).
- Return shipping is calculated at checkout.

How Do I Know If My Crampon Pedals Need Service?
Crampon pedals are exposed to mud, grit, water, repeated rock strikes, and thousands of hard pedal strokes. Even if the pedal body still looks great, the internal bushings, bearings, seals, and pins wear over time.
Before You Schedule a Rebuild
Hearing a light rattle?
A light rattle is usually the first sign that the grease inside the pedal has dried out or washed away. Before scheduling a rebuild, remove the nut (and end cap on MTN), add a small dab of grease to the spindle, and reassemble the pedal. In most cases, this will eliminate the noise and keep your pedals running smoothly.
Your Pedals May Be Ready for a Rebuild If:
- The rattle returns shortly after greasing.
- The pedal body has noticeable play on the spindle.
- The pedal feels rough, gritty, or notchy when rotated by hand.
- The pedals have seen extensive wet, muddy, or dusty riding without service.
- Traction pins are bent, damaged, or missing.
- The pedals feel noticeably rougher or looser than when new.
Simple Ways to Check Your Pedals
Grab & Rock Test
With the pedal installed on the bike—while holding the crank steady—grab the pedal body and try to rock it side to side and front to back. Any noticeable play usually indicates worn bushings, bearings or spring and washer hardware.
Spin Test
Spin the pedal body by hand. It should rotate smoothly and consistently. Grinding, resistance, or a rough, notchy feel means it's time for a rebuild.
Pin Inspection
Inspect the traction pins for bends, missing pins, or excessive wear. Damaged pins reduce grip and rider confidence, especially in wet or technical terrain.
