BREAK-IN PERIOD: It is normal for Canfield Crampon pedals to feel “stiff” when new or after a rebuild, especially compared to the used, worn-out pedals they are replacing. Pedals will break in and spin more freely after a few rides.
Switched to Crampon pedals several years ago now we have them on all our road and mountain bikes. No more hassles clipping in and out. No worries about falling clipping in or out. No delayed starts at traffic lights and no extra pair of shoes when traveling, just take the Pedals. I switched for increased knee mobility and my knee is doing much better out of the clips.

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy my new pedals. I purchased two sets, one for my e bike and one for my "me" bike and for both applications they are superb. I purchased them for increased ground clearance and shoe grip and your pedals did not disappoint. And the way they're designed in regard to pin replacement is the best I've ever seen. I smacked a rock hard enough to break and flatten a pin and it came right out without ruining the mounting hole.

I am a certified bike tech with 40yrs of wrenching & racing experience, and in my opinion Canfield pedals are the "Best flat pedals" that I've ever used. I have 6- sets on my family's bikes. I'm over 6'2" tall so I like the wider platform of the Crampon "Mountain, but the "Ultimate" suits most riders best.
The thinness of the pedal puts you closer to the center of the spindle, thus giving you an overall better feel of placement with, & of the bike (better control & balance). They look, feel, & perform Great! Also I've had one set for 10 yrs on two different bikes and still don't need a bearing rebuild kit yet. No regrets!
