My friend convinced me to try out some shorter cranks (150mm and I'm 185cm tall or 6'1"). At first I thought he was crazy, but now I can't go back: great for techy climbs and gnarly descents alike!
I bought one of these bottom brackets to enable the shorter cranks, since I was replacing Shimanos, and it has been awesome: super easy to install and very low friction so pedaling the short cranks is a dream :)
We put some 150mm Canfield cranks on my wife's Pivot Switchblade which uses a pressfit BB. Since Canfield cranks uses the GXP interface I bought an extra for future maintenance/replacement. No issues with the one I installed and spins nice and smooth after 2 seasons.
No issues here, I used it for a wolf tooth oval chainring with Canfield's cranks.
This BB is what I’ve been using on all of my Canfield builds (for the past 9 years) and it’s a solid component that’s never let me down, and they install smoothly. It’s a piece that simply works.
Love my short crank arms
The bb needed is sturdy and easy to use. Bearings seem to have a shorter life span than I’d prefer but I ride a lot; it could just be me! Customer service is always excellent :)
